Hello. I work for someone who's trying to get messages to show as pop ups in Gmoccapy, but everything we've tried hasn't worked. We've read the
LinuxCNC docs
and
this thread
as well, to no avail. I have some experience with Linux, but mostly as an end user. Can someone please post a step by step example from start to finish?

For a working example, just see in the config sim folder gmoccapy_messages.
Just open the sim config from the config picker, then look with halshow at the pins.
gmoccapy.messages.*******
I.e. if you do a
The message will be displayed.

Well, this is embarrassing: we have a few LinuxCNC folders and it turns out we were editing the HAL file in another folder
