Hello all, i have to say i really like gmoccappy.

Auto tool measurement works perfect, but how do you all measure the block height?
My goal would be to use my probe which i use for the auto tool measurement.

But at the moment i have no effective idea to do this.. Would be great if someone could share their steps :-). Thank you!

Have you seen the you tube video?
That isthe standard way. You can adapt the change.ngc to fit your needs. So everything is possible?

Hello, if you mean your features video of gmoccappy, yes i did.

But you are not measuring the block height with a probe, this is a feature what i am looking for at the moment :-).

The tool change offset probing is already working nice here, but i would like to stop measuring the block height by hand with a caliper or something else. I hope you understand what i mean.

What would be really useful for me would be an initial setup probing process where the probe finds the height of the top of the block, then moves to the tool length sensor and finds the height of that.

The difference between those two is the number you really need to know for subsequent tool length offsets and a process that runs like that would surely eliminate manual measurement errors?

I use automatic tool measurement.
I thought the same thing on this topic.

So I created an initial setup routine using macro button.
I got the value I want to set in the G-code.
How do I use that value as the block height?

For now, I have a routine to probe on the workpiece and the tool sensor, so I manually enter a value for the block height.

probe_blockheight.ngc is a Gmoccapy macro.
Move to the position of any workpiece and set the touch sensor. =>
Start macro. =>
Start by entering the probe height used for the workpiece. =>
Workpiece height is displayed.

Next, I try and put this work into the panel.

1. Enter the probe height.
Actually press a button and enter a calculator like gmoccapy
And want to display it on the label on the right.(Because I use a touch panel.)
Remember even after restarting LINUXCNC.

2. Start routine. Workpiece height is displayed on the right.

3, Set the height of the work piece.
I can't do it here.

Isn't it possible to simulately press the block height button and paste the result?
If not, change the block height with one click.

Please show me the way.

I'm also challenging python, but I've just started Linux and Linuxcnc and I'm puzzled by the sheer volume of manuals.
I'm sorry if English is strange because I rely on translation.
