is-paused not accurate

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a gmoccapy topic but I am using gmoccapy and so here we go:

When the program is started, then paused, the halui.program.is-paused accurately reflects the state of the machine while single-stepping throught the g-code. However, when the program is stepped into using the step-by-step button, the halui.program.is-paused turns off after several steps, and halui.program.is-running turns on.

I presume this to be a bug?

What version of linuxcnc are you using? I tried it with a master version with a simulated config and it seemed to work fine.

I am using version 2.8. I just compiled from source and it still behaves as I described.

I have the same issue with 2.7.x using Axis. I have to hit Stop then resume.

Are you using halui pin to step, or the gmoccapy button?

I am using the halui pin. The gmoccapy pause button works to resume the program every time. However, the gmoccapy step button has the same effect as the halui.program.step pin; when the program is initiated with step, the haul.program.is-paused and halui.program.is-running pins don't correctly reflect the machine state.
