Hallo Mark,
from the dokumentation of gmoccapy:
If you enter the top of the sensor as the start probing position, the error is OK.
Please set (first Test) TOOLSENSOR Z value to -200 (minus 200)
And MAXPROBE to 200 (positive 200)
And report back.
Norbert
from the dokumentation of gmoccapy:
The Tool Sensor Section
The position of the tool sensor and the start position of the probing movement, all values are absolute coordinates, except MAXPROBE, what must be given in relative movement.
If you enter the top of the sensor as the start probing position, the error is OK.
Please set (first Test) TOOLSENSOR Z value to -200 (minus 200)
And MAXPROBE to 200 (positive 200)
And report back.

Hello Norbert,
Thanks for you assistance.
[TOOLSENSOR]
Z = -200
MAXPROBE = 200
Didn't work. It rapided down to -200, and then started it's slow feedrate search for the probe by heading back up.
[TOOLSENSOR]
Z = -200
MAXPROBE = -200
Errored out as a commanded probing move outside the machines defined envelope.
[TOOLSENSOR]
Z = -200
MAXPROBE = -175
Works!!! Thanks very much. Now I need to change my workflow to actually use it.

Sorry, my mistake. I missed the the search direction need to be negative.
Glad it does work now.
