Hi Norbert / @newbynobi (or anybody else),

Thank you for your great gmoccapy panel software, it makes my machine complete.

I have been using auto tool length probing for a while now. I use different lengths of bits, probing times differ a lot because of that.
On Youtube I found a solution to the slow probing, its a 'two stage process now. First the Z-axis moves down fast, until it reaches a laser or optical sensor. Then the normal probing speed is used to measure the height.

For this to work the tool setting routines have to be adjusted. And I just do not know how to do that. GCode routines are shown at the 1:28 mark.

Norbert, if you have some time to look at this and maybe implement this in Gmoccapy it would be great. Looks like this would be a great addition to the already great software you made.

Have a look at PlasmaC, it has a similar way of finding the material fast to a certain point then slowing down when near the material.
