Dear Community,
i struggle with a problem in Gmoccapy ( Debian Buster 10.10; Preemt Kernel; LinuxCNC 2.8.3 )
I made a machine configuration with PnCConf ( standard X,Y,Z and Spindle on a Mesa 7I76e ).
in Manual mode is running Spindle, X axis, Y axis ( Z axis is delited in INI and Hal )
After homing of X and Y axis, i cant change to Automatic or MDI Mode.
I didnt understand why.
I test a Sim version of Gmoccapy ( a sample inside of LinuxCNC ) is exactly the same problem.
Is somebody there, to can support me to fix thisĀ  problem? Or have anyone an idea whats the problem?
Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers
Reinhard

Why do you home only X and Y? You wrote, that you have X Y Z. Explain why is Z deleted.
This is correct behavior. You must home all axis.

Good morning,
here is my HAL and INI file.

I need only axis X and Y, not more. Its a special of a retrofit of a punching machine.
Thats the reason to delete the Axis Z ind HAL and INI.

My suspect is, the Gmoccapy need a X, Y, Z axis as basic to run in MDI and Automatic.

Cheers
Reinhard

In PNCconf is option "Require homing before MDI / Runing" unclick it.

The special aplication will need special modification or crerating GUI.

Hello zz912,
yes of course , you have right, thats true.
I think i found my problem right now, i readed my ini file here for few minutes ago and found two things.
geometry =xyz
Joints = 3

I think i have to change in:
geometry = xy
Joints = 2

I will check tomorrow morning.
Thank you so much for your support.
