Ethercat appears to install ok, some modules are built for the current kernel, some are built for 6.1.0-31-arm64.

With no Ethercat devices connected I get this, would this indicate a good install ?
Code:

Yeh, that looks OK. If Ethercat was going to fail due to unsupported kernel, you would not have got that far...

OK that's a good start, all we need is someone to confirm with actual hardware.

The Radxa Zero 3E is a nice small SBC very similar to the Pi Zero but available with more RAM and an ethernet connector. You don't want to use it for step generation, but with the latest Armbian running a 6.12 RT kernel, the latency is ok, especially for a headless motion controller running a servo-thread. Could be interesting for example in a OpenPNP setup. One problem is that USB is not working with current kernel, but this will probably be fixed soon.

Yesterday I ran a G1F1X100 command with 6 TMC5160 connected over SPI @ 6MHz and spidev driver; the servo-thread (reading all 6 position, writing all 6 speed, only one PID) stayed under 0.75 ms for the entire 100 minutes.

I decided to go with Scylla From BTT since I have good support and documentation from grblHAL but I didn't buy anything yet because I still haven't finished mechanical part of my printNC project yet. So let me know of you have good news Because I really want to go with Linux CNC

With the RPI4 being a viable contender albeit marginal for linuxcnc I thought I'd share some results i got from a stock RPI5 with a SD and with the addition of a nvme hat. I think they have knocked it out of the park with this one.The first one is with a nvme ssd hat added and the second one is with the standard SD card.
