Workpiece Preview

Hi guys, new on Linuxcnc, have been using GRBL for a few years and thought i should give Linuxcnc a try.
I installed a new LinuxCNC 2.8.0 Debian 10 and I also installed NativeCam 0.1.14b. on a 3-4 year old Dell computer.
I have setting for a 3 axis mill and everything seems to be working fine except I do not see my workpiece in the preview window, everything else is visible there, such as drill and facing and other jobs and my machine limits, but my workpiece does not show up there no matter how I try.
Something I missed during installation or what am I doing wrong?
