Running Pathpilot without a Mesa board

Hello!
A friend is trying to run Pathpilot but he doesn’t have a Mesa card. The program won’t run. Anyone know if it’s possible to get Pathpilot up and running without the Mesa card? I think once he sees how convenient and easy PP is to use, he may convert over from Mach.
