Joint 0 following error

Hi.

I'm still working on my lathe conversion to use PP and one of my problems is when I try to jog the X-axis with the keyboard arrow keys. Every time I press and hold down the arrow key, it e-stops with the "joint 0 following error" after 13.113mm and multiples (I'm working in metric, but PP settings are in inch).

From my searching, it looks like it's mostly a problem with servos, but I'm using steppers, and it's mostly caused by ferror and min_ferror being too low. I've tried to increase them, but I need to increase ferror very high before it will stop erroring out. I don't have any problems with Z-axis, even if it has the same settings as X-axis. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this properly?

Attached is my tormach_lathe_base-ini

Br,
Stig

Here are the hal-files. They are a work in progress, so they are a bit of a mess now and not cleaned up yet. I'm also running v2.02, so not the latest version yet. I want to get this up and running properly before I upgrade and move over my changes.

You need to post the ini file also so the basic motion constants can be checked

Sorry Missed it

I don't see anything obviously wrong with the hal/ini files
If this were LinuxCNC I would ask for a halscope plot of the following error...

I would almost suspect a hardware problem with the PC or 5I25 card

I take it you wanted to see axis.0.f-error? I could start halscope, but I didn't manage to get any results. I tried Run mode both Normal and Single and Trigger Normal and Auto. Anything special I need to set up?
It could possibly be something with the PC. It has problems doing POST. It seems to reboot a few times before it complains about no boot device. After doing a Ctrl-Alt-Del, it will boot normally. I don't know if this is caused by the PC, HDD or maybe the 5I25 card. I can try to move the HDD over to a different PC and try that.

Yes, axis.0.f-error would be good.
Note that after you select a pin to plot with halscope, you need to
change the run mode to stop and then select the desired run mode
(I would use "roll" mode to start with)
