PathPilot V2 VMware

How do I install PathPilot V2 USB to a VMware virtual machine?

I can't get a VMware BIOS to see a USB stick to do the install.

you have to enable UEFI support in the VMWare instance

Thanks for the input but I've not got very far on this.
Don't know if the USB stick is UEFI or MBR, my shed linux boot select screen shows both UEFI and MBR options and both work.
VMware won't boot the USB stick in either UEFI or Legacy mode.
We (computer guru son and me) spent many hours trying to convert the PathPilot USB stick to an ISO with genisoimage. 
At the end we had an ISO almost loading the R-Drive menu but we were both well and truly over it by then and gave up.
We'll go back to it and try again but I'm going to have ago at installing PathPilot V2 on a spare drive and using qemu to make a VMware vmdk  file out of it. 
  
I've had a quick look at plop and plop boot manager and there might be something there. I'll download it and have ago - but not for a day or two.

 

Just had a quick look at the link and WOW, magnificent job!

I left it alone for awhile and stared again on it yesterday but a different approach. Made a dd copy of my running system to a spare disk, shrank the partitions down to manageable sizes and tried various tools to make ISOs, but again VMware didn't like them.

Today I'm trying to use qemu to make a vmdk file.

When this approach fails I'll try your method and hope it works with VMware.

Success at last.

Didn't get anywhere trying to create ISOs and vmdk files with several tools.

Plop Linux didn't help either, running the boot manager just brought up a clock at the bottom right, random flashing dots instead of the star field but no menu at the top left.

Gave it one last go today, created a virtual machine with the Plop boot manager iso and got exactly the same clock, dots and lack of menu. Walked away at this stage but when I came back some minutes later I had a coherent star field and a menu. Plugged in the PathPilot install USB and made it known to the VM and the R-Drive installation screen appeared and ran to completion. There were quite a few other steps to get here, I'll attempt to repeat the process and document it.

Still haven't actually seen the main PP screen as I'm not in SIM mode and PP is looking for an interface.

Compared to VMware, VirtualBox is far more configurable.
