Issues Cutting Thin Materials - Proma Compact THC Controller SD

Hi,

We have a Premier Plasma CNC Table with a Miller Spectrum 625 X-treme attached to it and a Proma Compact THC Controller SD. Everything is working fine except when cutting thin materials or materials that are warped. Our issue seems to be that once the head’s height is set at the beginning of a cut, it doesn’t adjust if the material is unlevel or warped through the cut and it stops cutting.

My main question is, can someone please confirm that the Proma Compact THC Controller SD is capable of auto-setting the head’s height while cutting? If not, what THC controller do I need in order to get automatic touch sensor.

Thanks

yes it workes fine
it also gor a nice setup
and can be configured on the reaction time

NEGATIVe is it has connection to the Mashine and to the Plasma
if your Plasma generates EMI it will get buggy up to Shutdown all system
SEEN more then ones
if you use linuxcnc use the Standard one not the PID

that workes fine and you got full control of all moves

Prima THC SD works properly, tested on very warped 1.5mm metal plate and it does track properly.
Check if the ArcOn light comes on when plasma in on and cutting,
Check the settings, there are a lot of settings on it and if any of them is not set properly it will not work.
Test with a flat plate and check if the torch moves up or down while cutting and adjust the voltage on the THC accordingly.

@tommylight - Where is the ArcOn light?

So, would you say that this is most likely a setting in the Prima controller itself?

ArcOk is the middle one on the Proma THC.
It most probably is, it would not be nice if you are asking for help here and it turns out that the THC is not wired properly or wired at all!
So:
Does the Proma THC turn on?
What does it say on the display when on and what when cutting?
Are any of the 3 lights on while Not cutting?
What light are on while cutting?
Press the up OR down button while not cutting, what does the display say?

If your Z axis is not moving, then the odds are that there is a wiring fault or a configuration error. Tommy who has already answered you is the Maestro of the Proma THC's

That all looks OK, although the voltage of 132V might be to much, so try lowering that to 100-120V.
Get the user manual on the proma-elektronika.com page and have a run through the settings.
When you press and hold the 2 buttons there are an aray of menus that cycle through, and it has a lot of settings to be set. If lowering the voltage still does not correct the issue, you will have to go through the menu.
