Little late to the party but I'm Stefan C with the website in the OP. I started here a few years back with Tommy helping me out with that proma config on a small 2x2 build. Posted the build on youtube to show some friends and family and things sort of spiraled from there. I did a few more builds and ended up with the website to try and share some of the common questions I was getting. The website is a bit neglected as I've been posting a bunch on Instagram but I'll get it updated at some point.
Photobucket was complaining about my bandwith so most of my pics came down but i'll attach them here.
Photos:
Original 2'x2' build
Larger 4'x2' build similar to the the 2'x2'
Low dollar build 4'x2' with belts and cheap linear rails
Big HD 4'x4' for me to keep
Lighter Duty 4'x4' based on my HD table.
Ended up swapping out the parallel port cards on my HD table to the 7I96 and adding an air scribe. Just got my steel yesterday for a new 5'x5' build similar to the lighter duty table. I do this mainly in my spare time as a hobby to grow my skills as a fabricator and learn to hack around in HAL. I've switched to using the Mesa 7i96 boards for everything since they have plenty of I/O. External THCs I use the PriceCNC THC and did some testing with the THCAD10 which worked quite nice. With the big HD table I've been designing my own carriage plates and built everything for the lighter duty table with the HD 4x4.

I am the other plasma Stefan, Tom thought it was my site.
You should check out the PlasmaC configuration, It is very stable and we are adding new features to it all the time.

I've taken a peek at PlasmaC and it looks fantastic, havent had the time to tinker with it yet. It's hard to switch as I have so much time invested in the Proma config. I've been adding features to it over time as well.
- THC disable via UI or Custom M code
- Move to cut height after pierce delay elapsed
- Ohmic sensing integration
- Secondary probe speed
- Simulation mode
- Added the THCAD10 without using the THC component, just ran values through wcomp. Etc..
Just finished the air scribe mode using the Z to move the scribe. Used a few mux gates and custom M codes to pass user selectable heights to the travel height field. Works great.

PlasmaC has all those except secondary probe speed, What is that?

We will have to call you Stefan03 from here on.
Stefan01, several of us have thrown out hundreds of hours of work and gave Plasmac a go and we never went back...
If you have the THCAD and a 7i96 you will never use your Proma again....
