Would the above machine be suitable to build a plasma cutter CNC for Saturday upto 3/8” steel. Are there any features it is missing that would impact building a CNC around it?
I assume it would need to have a THCAD hooked up? Which model? 300?
The user manual is here:

Does this lack anything that would make it suitable or comparable to say a Hypertherm cutting up to 3/8” steel? It’s much cheaper, but has great reviews. Thanks in advance!

I think its HF or scratch start. Consider an Everlast 50 amp machine which is blowback torch and has a CNC port .
With any machine outside of Hypertherm, Thermal Dynamics or ESAB you will be in for a journey of discovery regarding cut settings etc.

The one on the first picture is HF/HV start. It has another wire that goes to the torch with "pilot arc" on it.
