THCAD-10 what kind of resistors. was created by Ghost
Hello together,
I am new here. I want to update my cnc router 2,5mx1,25m with a plasma torch. The Problem is USB is not cabable of that. So I will switch to linux cnc. And to finish it up it should have a THC. I read and googled a lot about it but one Question is left over.
With the THCAD-10 I can connect it to the torche Voltage by adding a 1,9M Ohm resistor and tell linuxcnc it is a ratio 1:1. Right?
But what kind of resistor should I use? Sorry if there is an answer anywhere on the forum but I didn't found it.
I am apprichiated for help.

It won't really matter. its a low current application so 0.5 W resistor should work.

Thanks for the quick answer. And what is about high frequency? Also possible with a normal resistor For exampel This kind:

I used two 1 megohm resistors, one for each + and - input. maybe you can take them a little bigger for the mechanical strength, electrically those are fine too.
