Hello everyone,

We are trying to develop a plasmacutter with 2 servomotors(X&Y) connected to the encoder 01 and 02 of the 7I77. The Z-axis is a stepper motor.
On the encoderinput 03 we have connected a THCAD that measures the Arc voltage. This works fine.
We want to connect a second THCAD to encoderinput 04 to measure the voltage of the ohmic sensing. I think we configured it not good, but when we check the  HAL watch. The encoder.04.count stays on 0.

The connections are good because when connected it to encoderinput 3 and then it counts. We also connected it to encoder05 and this one stays also on 0.

We tried everything we could but nothing helps. I hope the guys on the forum can help us.

Best regards from Belgium.

Tom

Attach the hal and ini files here so we can have a look.

I will upload thes files next week. The machine is on school en I can't get acces to these files at home. In my description I made a mistake:
-Encoder 00 = X-axis
-Encoder 01 = Y-axis
-Encoder 02 = first empty but now THCAD for Ohmic sensing
-Encoder03 = THCAD for THC
-Encoder 04 = empty
-Encoder 05 = empty

We tried to make the ohmic sensing work on encoder input 4 and encoderinput 5 but it didn't want to work. Then we tried 02 and it works. but we don't know what we did wrong on encoderinput 04 and 05.

What do you have in INI / HAL for "num_encoders" ?

My WAG as to why some channels aren't counting is that they are in quadrature
mode rather than counter mode.
