My Bosses New Toy

So late last week a couple large crates came in where I work. Turns out to be a 2Kw 3 in 1 Laser welder, cutter, and de-scaler.
I guess I will have to build a cnc table and drive package to make this thing a cnc laser cutter.

So today I was modeling up parts for the shop's small 3D printer to make and it occurred to me that since I have acces to a high power 
Laser I could try building a metal 3D printer . I know their's is a lot to doing that but I have to at least try to make it work. That may
take a while but stay tuned this could get interesting.

After further thought I will move that project to the Additive Manufacturing section. and keep this one for the
cnc laser cutter

  Well after a little bit of time using the laser for its intended purpose I can say this thing is finicky . We have gone through a couple of
protective lenses already due to inadvertent soot contamination. This project will take a while to work out, well into this coming year.
