Hi
Question as above
is it possible for building a script that basic ests up a Maschine setup as runnning in Axis to a QTPYVCP Screen
or even to a QTVCP screen
i guess lots of people are thinking of a change from Axis to a Real good looking Mashine screen View
but fear the convertings
A.Check if all depencies are there
B Version Check Linuxcnc
C convert Axis INI and Main Machine HAL
Uncomment like Pyvcp panel and connections not convertable
so a basic Running Mashine comes out
OR a Stepconfwizard for the QTPYVCP screens to be connected like Pncconf does with the cards

Once a QtPyVCP VCP is installed, all that is needed to switch to that VCP is to change the [DISPLAY] DISPLAY in the INI file to the name of the VCP.
QtPyVCP will give you a warning if you try to use it with the wrong version of LinuxCNC.
It would be nice to have an install script that checked for dependencies and installed everything, put examples in the right place etc. Turboss is working on an installer that will do this.

Are there any stable packages for qtpyvcp ? I’ve noticed some on github but was wondering about the status of them.
ATM the Mint respins are including qtvcp dependencies and having the designer lib and plugins placed as they should.
Mostly I have “sledge hammer scripts” to do the donkey work.
