2.10 is the development version of linuxcnc, you should be on 2.9 ( also technically a development version but more stable. both are run on debian 12 which is also currently the development version although it has a release date now to be current in a few weeks. debian 12 with the non free firmware is most likely every bit as compatible as mx21.

Ok, I can give that a try and see if it works.
do you expect that to work with probe basic as it is or will it take time for probe basic to be compatible with debian 12?

probe basic is now only compatible for install with debian 12 as a standard practice. use the link above for the correct installation.

Chris, Just wanted you to know that I was looking at your home page and saw that your link to QtPyVCP (qtpyvcp.kcjengr.com/) is leading to a 404 error. I think the correct link is www.qtpyvcp.com/

I've checked again...
On the probe Basic homepage : kcjengr.github.io/probe_basic/index.html#
The first link to QtPyVCP is : h t t p ://qtpyvcp . kcjengr . com/ (nothing more than that but without the spaces)
Do you have something else???

Which version of Debian did you go with?
MX21, Debian 11.7, Debian 12 or something else?

Rod, that is NOT the link I'm talking about. Yours is the first link after 'installation'. The one I'm talking about is when you click on QtPyVCP on the text on top of the page: ProbeBasic is a QtPyVCP based user interface for the LinuxCNC machine control.
