That is where they are saved with the original names.
I have set the permissions to wr user & group.
I have also tried changing the names to Router_01.py etc
Always the same.
I have reposted the latest & my ini file just incase.

I don't know if its relevant but I just noticed that these log files are being created in my home dir.

When you say original name, do you mean
qtdragon_handler.py
qtdragon.ui
I see the files I posted got their names changed by the forum.

Excellent!
if there is a 2.8.3 release you will need to remove those files to see the qtdragon update.
The pin name will change slightly.

Just one other quick thing.
Withe the new files loaded up the graphics are missing from the jog buttons.
Having made the hal connections it seems to be working as expected otherwise.

try copying the folder:
/usr/share/qtvcp/images
into:
/home/alex/linuxcnc
