QtDragon user view persistance was created by frayja2002
Hi there
I am using the latest development version of QtDragon (not HD) & notice that we now have near the preview window a user view button which is a great thing.
I was wondering if it would be possible to have the record view to be persistent across sessions, so that when you restart linuxcnc you can just press the button & go straight to you favorite position?
Thanks

yes I think we could do this.
The user view is an experiment - in my testing it wasn't always perfect but It was really useful.
What did you find?

I pushed work to have user view saved in the preference file.

I have tried it and it seems to be working.
Slightly off topic but I have a couple of other questions...
With the "goto" buttons in the XYZ jog area would it be possible to have the one labeled "Goto Origin" changed to something like "Goto WCO"
Just so that I don't heep getting it confused with a "Goto machine origin"
Also I notice that to start the g-code the button says START LINE as opposed to QtDragon_HD which has the more traditional CYCLE START.
Does that mean I could accidentally start my g-code half way through if I'm not careful or is it just a differnt name for the same thing?
As always thanks for your immediate response & continuing improvements.

PS I don't know if you intend to, but I didn't see the save view button in QtDragon_HD yet.

run-from-line option must be selected in the settings tab.
Then you select the line you want to start at. the line number is reflected in the button label.
As well as that, a dialog will pop up to give you start options.
So it would be hard to do this accidentally.
But i changed the label to cycle start when the run-from-line option is off.
I added user view to dragon_hd

Hi there.
I have just had a look at all of the changes & everything looks good except that the goto mchn zero button is appears to be going to the work zero.
Could you possibly double check this.
Thanks
