MDI error while Probing was created by MoshKopp
Hi,
I`m playing aroung with QTDragon_HD for the probing Tab I use basic_probe. on Lcnc bullseye 2.9 pre.
If I run for e.g. Z- Probing. Z sometimes drive 2mm sometimes less, sometimes more.
in debug he writes
is there a way to search why MDI is interrupted?

This error says the command timed out, meaning it took longer than 30 seconds. How far from the workpiece was the probe tip when you started the probe? At 250 mm/min it will time out if the distance is more than 125 mm. Not sure what you mean by Z sometimes driving 2 mm. Do you mean it only goes 2 mm and then shows the error?

I'm short over the Object, maybe 4mm, he drives maybe 1 second.
sometimes a bit longer. and if I have many Luck he makes 1 one time contact, retract, and stops before second measure.
if it helps I can try make a video or something else.

This doesn't give enough info from the terminal - it's a catch all error message.
If it timed out there would be a specific one.
I wonder if the probe is picking up interference or miss tripping?

I solved that Problem with reinstalling LinuxCNC. now it works.
I dont know why.
But ran into the same Problem like in the other Post where MaxXY dist. is MaxZ dist.

here we go:
forum.linuxcnc.org/qtvcp/46615-probe-basic-in-qtdragon
btw. extra depth doesnt work also as it shoult, instead of for e.g.
2mm extra depth he makes 0mm.
On Z-minus probing, after finish probing he should 15mm rise up. but makes 17mm. he added the 2mm extra to top, but not on edge finding in depth.
I hope you understand what I mean.
