Thanks
Pico is on my watchlist.
Unfortunately they do seem to have any dealers in EU.

Gib mal im Terminal ein: lsb_release -ic
Was wird ausgegeben?

Thanks
Problem is availability
Welectron do not sell mesa products any longer
Eusurplus is very limited in stock so I fear they are tapping out of mesa as well.
If it’s not sold within EU we cannot use them as suppliers

Hi all. I’ve converted my maho 700 over to Linuxcnc using a lot of information from Mark (rotary smp). I need some advice or guidance.  So all 3 axis are working and I’ve managed to figure out and get the PID tuning running smoothly. At 1000/mm.s
im struggling with the A axis which uses a Heidenheim scale.
1. What scale settings do I give it or how do I workout the scale value of the a axis.
2. When the clamps are release and the scale is plugged in and the NC- ready is on its almost as if the mesa card sends out a voltage causing the motor to “bump” which causes a joint error. If I unplug the scale and still leave the clamps off the machine runs fine and the table is steady doesn’t drift.

3. What or how can I get the spindle to be steady? Again of the plug is unplugged from the mesa card the spindle doesn’t “spin” but when plugged in it moves slowly like maybe .5 of a rpm sort of a drift.

4. Are you somehow feeding a Tacho signal to the mesa card so it can control RPM? Or are you just basing it off the calculation? And how do you get more range so I can run it from 0-6000 rpm.

5. Might be a silly question this is really a hobby for me. But what is a max MM/S for these machines? Trying to get the max set but don’t want to cause any damage.

I haven’t worked on the gearbox settings yet just want to figure out the axis first.

Moin an alle

Was ist hier passiert? Kennt jemand das Problem?
Ich habe Linuxcnc 2.9.2 installiert

Hi,

I have an old computer (pre 2010), 2G ram.  LinuxCNC 2.9.4 runs on it, but I cannot get the jitter down. I have tried a lot of suggestions on this forum (bios settings, deactivating unused hardware etc.). I think the preempt-rt kernel would not work with this computer.

I want to use it for a 4 axis wood router, no fancy peripherals (keyboard and mouse control). What RTAI version of LinuxCNC is lightweight and still has a user friendly interface. I have not tried any of them, I want to ask here first.

Thanks

It would be great to create a complete, fully open, standardized, and comprehensive solution for LinuxCNC, with open schematics, boards, and enclosures.
If I find the resources to complete the main boards, I will make the completed boards and enclosures, along with the ported firmware source code, publicly available.
Suggestions, advice, and criticism are also welcome.

Far more advice than I could give.

lspci will only probe devices on the pci\pcie bus.
The OP is correct the USB device ids are defined in the header file.
Maybe if the OP raised an issue on the GitHub page he would have direct access to the Devs.
Unfortunately the only thing I can think of is to follow the instructions given in the docs and build Linuxcnc from source as a RIP and see how things go.

Estoy queriendo comprar los siguientes equipos:
7i97T (Este es el que no está disponible en Mesanet)
7i84U
7i74

Pico Systems has the PPMC, a set of boards to read encoders, drive +-10V velocity servo drives and handle digital I/O. It is fully supported by LinuxCNC. Take a look at: picosystems.store/product-category/analog-servo-interface-ppmc/

Hi
i am retrofitting a 2002 Homag BOF with Rexroth servo motors and ECOdrive BKC xx.3 040 7 FW.
The setup is originally communicating over Sercos I.
my intention was to use the inbuilt analog +-10v and skip the Sercos. I was planning to use the Mesa7i96 through Ethernet and a daughter card than can run analog communication on the 4 axis.
It seems though that Mesa has more or less abandoned their activities in Europe.
So what are the alternatives to Mesa products?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get my XHC-WHB04B-6 wireless handwheel working with LinuxCNC, but mine shows up as:

So the Vendor ID (10ce) is fine, but the Product ID is 0xeb91 instead of the usual 0xeb93.
It’s one of those AliExpress clones, originally meant for EdingCNC controllers.

From what I’ve read, the Product ID is defined in the driver source (like usb.h), and you’d need to rebuild it — which I can’t manage.

Has anyone already patched this or found a way to make LinuxCNC recognize it?

Thanks a lot!
Michael
