Good morning gents!!
I was wondering if a cheap amazon Incremental rotary encoder (5 wire including ground/shield) could be used for a 4th axis? I am using a Mesa 7i97T board and am experiencing so difficulty with it. I can see it count in Hal show but when i try to use it in real time it keeps erroring out...
Once again thank you to all the experts that make this possible!!!

wow, very nice !!!
is there a repository for the web gui ?

If it all runs smoothly, it might even be worth building a separate board for it – after all, you wouldn’t need an extra PC for it anymore.

It’s a bit complicated, as it’s part of Riocore and everything is generated.
Furthermore, I don’t use Linux either, but rather baremetal (LWIP)

  So yeah it's been a good long time since I have done anything with the pick and place
to say nothing of the alignment gui. That said a project at work has put me in a position
to work with Tkinter. I would not say I am proficient with it or python but it has taught me
how to use it to some degree. I am hoping it will translate to something beneficial.
The only thing I know is that is that I don't know anywhere near enough.

i use the EBAZ4205t as an external board via UDP like normal mesa-cards.

@tim
it's only in the dev branch yet:
