This should be fixed in master now.
Another Dev figured it out quick!

If the driver does not find a Sserial remote, it reverts the pins to GPIO
so that's expected if there is no remote connected/discovered.

Hi, kind of a late message but I am in the process of retrofitting an old hydraulic press brake. Currently, I'm looking to buy a hydraulic proportional valve for the cylinder. Do you have any tips for this purchase? I really appreciate any advice. I am a bit intimidated by this project.

I've gone through the parity options before but Its been a while

That said, I have not seen  any other parity complaints,

I can try and duplicate this sometime this week but I think it's something more basic.

Edit:

Just tried the GS10 at 8E1 (still 38400 baud) and it works as expected on master.

Ok for the stop bits, what about the parity ?

Unlikely, The V2 firmware does not support 2 stop bits and it runs the same
(the driver complains that it cannot set 2 stop bits so drops back to 1 stop bit)

I can try the same setup with 1 stop bit but I doubt that's the issue

Alright, fair enough. I've already purchased a separate supply and a PWM to analog converter. I'll just use the pot on the board to make it send out a max of 7 volts and use the basic stepconf to set up the spindle RPM.

Hello,
I just checked your zip and the only real difference is you use 8N2, I need 8E1 (and 38400 vs 19200bps).
Could that be the problem ?

Thanks !

So I need a separate power supply for this converter?
If a device is not isolated from the power grid, it may cause fatal shock, damage to the electronics or its incorrect operation.
What's worse, it all depends on which wire you connect where.
The machine can operate safely and without failure for years, and when connected to another wall socket, it may burn itself or kill the operator.
To prevent this from happening, all you need to do is spend a few dollars more on an already expensive machine.
I really don't know what to discuss here...

This is an open source project and subsequently open source forum, so anything proprietary does not have a place here, as noted by the lack of such section on this forum.
You can show it on the "show your stuff" section, but you must also note the pricing and license terms and conditions, you might also add the link to it, but beware that if that link points to anything remotely suspicious you will be banned, meaning no tracking scripts, no loggers, no permanent cookies, and no collecting user information without their prior consent.
As for free licenses, if anyone is interested you can sort that there, not privately, no private messaging on this forum.

I am sure i do not want anything licensed, but thank you for the offer.

Mesa 7i97T has a 7i83 built in, well it has 1.5 of 7i83 built in for 6 channels, so it is fine to use on plasma machines, also has isolated IO, read the manual.
Same for steppers on Z axis, they are fine as can be proven by over 30 cnc plasma machines i have built and retrofitted, all except two use steppers on Z.
And no, you can not use 6m/m for probing as it will incur to much stress on the torch and the holder and....

Here are the  hal/ini/mbccs files I used for testing:

File Attachment:

File Name: 7i95gs10.zip

I can check the exact master version but it's quite new
(late last week)

2.9.10 behaves identically
