This is still a work in progress, and actually doesn't involve Linuxcnc yet. It's running on 3 Arduinos running GRBL right now, but I'm in the process of upgrading to Linuxcnc and some Mesa cards (7i76e and 7i85s)
But, I wanted to show what it's capable of right now...

Wow, I realy like this thingi! It's worth every drop of effort.
I recently came across this art price (website) (facebook) It is a bit short time, I know. But then again you can submit not yet completed items and the actual exhitbition is in november. I think you should give it a try.
Grtz, CatweazleMagic

CatweazleMagic,
Thanks for the support! I'm touched that you like it so much. I hadn't thought of submitting it for art prizes. I have to think about the limitations of shipping, setting up, and maintaining this thing while it's running. I'd also likely have to rebuild the whole thing as we use it every day, and in general it doesn't ship well. Anyway, I'll look into it!
Cheers!
