Gents-

Here's the start of a project, with the ultimate goal of creating a cheap reliable touch less touch off plate.


This initial laser trip setup speeds up cycle time of touching off tools immensely.

The system takes advantage of linux CNC's G38.3 versus G38.5 calls (inverted triggers). Let me know if you have a suggestion on how to improve this idea.

THE Cheepest Touchoff is to use a Pice of FR4 PCB and simply touch on the top of the part
or as americans like more to touch the Mounting plate

So, you use a single probe input, make on laser and break on touch? That's fairly cunning.

Correct. 1 probe input.

What's sweet is when the first probe trips in linuxcnc there is an opportunity to fool the machine into probing at a different feedrate.
