Use $17 breakout board because $5 bob won’t the encoder reading
I use 100ppr quadrature rotary incremental encoder.
Reduces rpm 1440 to 188 with aid of range of pulleys and back gear on lathe.no vfd.
Debian linuxcnc Wheezy 2.7
Use nema 23 stepper motor with dia 16mm 5mm ballscrews
