  That concept is an interesting step forward. Though I wonder if using a glass filament instead of glass powder
would be a better approach. From what I understand getting the glass to melt isn't the problem, getting the
glass to cool without cracking is the real trick.

I use glass rods in various diameters for feedstock for CNC lamp making.

The glass bead is done this way.   

I use a synthetic sand for 3D printing molds for glass.
