My Homemade plasma CNC was created by MTTI

For the needs of my workshop, I built this plasma table.
The usable cutting area is 2790x1200mm, and it is equipped with a Hypertherm Powermax 105 SYNC, allowing cuts up to 32mm of steel.
I initially used the control unit from my CNC milling machine along with Mach3, but I was very limited in terms of available options.
recently upgraded it to fully utilize all the possibilities of LinuxCNC/QtPlasmaC.

This is the V2, I will start the V3 soon with a complete rebuild and complete new mecanical design

Here are some photos:

Dang, those are some nice cuts! :)

Should we move this to "show your stuff"?

Thanks!

I have a last problem that I don’t understand, there is no game on all axis, the torch is perfectly straight on X and Y (perpendicular with the table) but the cuts aren’t straight along Y axis only.
I will print a new torch support with adjustable angle too see if it can solve the problem.

It may be expected. one side of the kerf is not always square so the direction (clockwise/anticlockwise) can make a difference. I think it is to do with the swirl in the gas or something.

I tried with new consumables because I was thinking about swirling due to a worn nozzle but ithe issue remains the same.
The air pressure/flow is automatically adjusted by the powermax and it’s air supply respects the manufacturer’s recommendations (pressure, flow, water/oil contamination etc…)

Regarding the cutting direction, I let Pronest decide for me but I will try on next cuts.
Do you think compensating the torch inclination could work?

Remember a plasma cutter is a blunt axe, not a surgical scalpel.
Ask yourself is the cut quality adequate for welding and fabrication? It will never be like an accurately machined part.
The plasma primer has some info about cut heights and angularity

For the edges of the parts, this is not a big problem for me, but the main issue is with the holes—they are oval instead of round.
I have already read this page and understand the height vs. angle relationship, but why does this only happen in the Y direction in my case?
On X direction the cuts are perfectly straight.

Is the Y properly calibrated?

What hole processing does Pronest have?
What diameter hole are you cutting?
What material and thickness?

Its suggested to slow cut velocity to about 60% for holes.

Is the Y properly calibrated? Yes

What hole processing does Pronest have? The defaut processing, into Pronest, I change the material and that's it
What diameter hole are you cutting? The last cuts were with 62mm hole diameter
What material and thickness? Same, the last cut were with midl steel, 15mm thick.

I wil try next time  reducing feed-rate to 60% and see. But I think it will be the same because i've got this issue also with straigt cuts
