tool setter?

got to looking at these hackaday.com/2011/06/09/diy-cnc-touch-probe/ and was wondering could one be inverted on the table and be used as a tool setter? also how would one set that up in hal? or wrirte a macro? this would be a great inexpensive solution not having a tool changer, you could just touch off the setter after each tool change

"motion.probe-input" would connect to the probe switch. Or you can set probe in in Stepconf.
