With a lot of help from the forum I successfully managed to use ilowpasss to smooth out the mpg clicks using a mesa 7i85s file attached.
I am trying to do the same using a mesa 7i76 software encoder.
The problem I have is that altering the gain just delays the output from the mpg but does not smooth it like it does with the 7i85s
I have attached my custom_ilowpass_mpg.hal this is for 7i76 . I am trying just to get the X axis working first
Is it indeed possible using the software encoders?

Ilowpass needs a large scale factor to work
(and the jog increments needs to be divided by this scale number)
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/examples/mpg.html
(look at the ilowpass scale and gain numbers in the example)
