Hello,

i was searching for a more powerful and faster spindle and found this:

the Manual states that it has PWM/Voltage (0-5/0-10v) and CW/CCW inputs but would it work with linuxcnc in closed loop if i put an encoder on it? Has someone experience with it?

Thanks

It will run closed loop in Linuxcnc, but it does not have enough power to do rigid tapping on any metal or alu.
Do not let that discourage you, please do try it and let us know how it goes.

okay thanks, most important for me is that it will be closed loop and i can orient the spindle for an ATC. The hardest materials i will be (most likely) cutting is aluminium. if the spindle is to weak for rigid tapping i will get a threadmill.

i still have to design and build my machine though so it will take a lot of time to say it works or not :)
