7i84 question was created by 3D-Master
Hello,

is the 7i84 a good choice for relays, Led´s (start stop resume buttons), touch probe input, solenoid valves and homing switches/endstops in terms of speed and voltage/amperage? may there be a better option?

thanks

it should work fine for all of those applications with the possible exception of touch probe input _if_ the probe contacts switch the 7I84 inputs directly, since touch probe contacts typically want lower voltage and current than the 12/24V 7I84 inputs

i have got the 7i84 now but i am a little confused about the TB1 wiring.

Do i have to connect 5-32v on all 4 (1,2,3,4) Pins?
On pin 5 it says 8-32V, i either have 5 or 12v so i should use 12v on this pin.
Pin 6-8 is all ground, so i could technically bridge them and only use one wire and connect it to my main ground?
If i connect 5v to TB1 pins 1-4, the output is probably also only 5v but what about the input pins?
Do 12v inductive endstop switches only work if i have connected 12v to the TB1 pins or do they work no matter what i have as input voltage?

i am sorry but i am not an electrician :/

To keep it simple I would use 12V connected to TB1 pins 1 and 3 (FIELDA and FIELDB)
and 12V common connected to TB1 pin 8 (and W1 left in default left hand position)

PNP proximity switches can wire directly to 7I84 inputs, NPN proximity switches need a 2K pullup resistor to +12V
