Hello,

I am trying to connect the original VFD that came with my milling machine to my 7i76e. Previously I borrowed my Huanyang VFD from my other mill to get things going, but the M100 has a somewhat different wiring requirement ( here's a link to the quick start / wiring ).

M100 Wiring Mode

7i76e Wiring Mode

If i connect ENA+ to PIN9, ENA- to PIN11 and short PIN9 & PIN12 or PIN9 & PIN13 it starts spinning forward/reverse.
I can't figure out how get a proper DIR+/DIR- connection to PIN12 & PIN13.

My last thought was using a relais, and wire NC=PIN12 (FOR), NO=PIN13 (REV) and use ENA- as COM.
I just don't know how to trigger the relais for either FOR or REV with DIR+ or DIR- then [it's late, i'm tired and i'm not an electronics expert :-/]

Anybody has a general idea for me on how to continue?

Thanks & best regards,
Pierre

Looks like PR11 set to 2 will set the drive to ENABLE/DIRECTION mode

Good find! I'll check that out later today. Also found this helpful wiring diagram today, so I may be able to figure it out,

The parameter that PCW suggests probably means that you don't need any relays.
The other diagram does not, necessarily, require the enable relay, one relay is enough in your case, that diagram is for a VFD with separate FWD and REV inputs but no enable.

Thanks to both you, I think i figured it out mentally. I also figured it out as it is, with two relais.

Will change the Parameter to 2 later, I guess I'll have to wire it like:

- SPIN ENA+ & SPIN DIR+ to T9
- SPIN ENA- to T11 & T12
- SPIN DIR- to T13

This way SPIN ENA closes enable & run when running and SPIN DIR closed is forward, open is reverse?
I'll later route the T9 to T11 separately through my security relais, so the spindle stops when i hit the ESTOP.

I think that should work. You could consider simply jumpering "enable" so the VFD is "live" any time the machine is on.

All right, that works flawlessly. Thanks for the hint to PR11!
