Hi

The time delay work fine so at this stage I does not like to mix more component, but...

From what I have see using the timedelay + limit2 for spindle soft start allow the limit2 maxv to be respected both for acceleration and deceleration.

Imho this need to be automatically doing by the limit2 : the component can be enhanced for wait some configurable rpm before release the enable signal (not sure if this is really possible)

Also I think the top is adding a maxd (max deceleration) configuration.

And at the end keeping the full powered brake for some kill-switch situation.

It's a bit of pain to tie together a bunch of logic components to get the behavior you want but this is exactly what custom built components help with.
You might take the limit2 component and add the enable/disable drive logic to it.

It is what make linuxcnc so powerful though - lots of flexibility

Yes I can do a custom component but the goal is mostly for speak about that regarding a possible merge to master because I think this need to be the default behavior.
Using limit2 maxv is I think mostly for not ask too much load to the motor so that need to be the same for regenerative braking.

If this is only for my own use the timedelay is enough.

Thanks a lot for interest
