Not sure about the encoder issue, Might be an issue with the simulated encoder signal from the drive. Some kind of wiring or setup error might cause this also. You might check that you have adequate signal by measuring across the A and /A pins and B and /B pins to verify that you always have greater that 2V absolute across the pairs regardless of quadrature state

Well the voltage check makes it pretty clear my old controller did not care about axis encoders (at least not the X axis)..
A /A are 1.5v or -4v alternating.. :S :S :S :S
B /B are 4v or -4v alternating..
Z /Z is 5v currently, but I wasn't going to step 10000 times to find it, and index pulses worked for homing in the past so HOPEFULLY they still work.

Y Axis looks fine...

Also checked its not in the cable.. Y cable tested in X port shows the A /A issues, Y cable in the Y port shows good on A /A..

Anyways, as they say "The more you know"....

Thanks for the help.. Pity the encoder data is jacked coming from the controller.
