If you made the spindles C and B you could put elegant twists in your work
Note that you can use M19 for any of your spindles individualy. But that doesn't give you coordinated motion.
Still, it might be more flexible to have the two spindles as separate axes.

Hello everyone, I have several questions: up to what speed (rpm) in C axis mode, while being indexed? 500, 1000 rpm? and is it possible with a VDF as a spindle? like here, using the ORIENT component?

Are you referring to the eliptical turning or spindle orientation/position control.
Excentric or odd shape turning is possible with external offsets. Search the forum for that.

I have seen this before, but the c-axis seems to be more recommended

If I was wanting to machine ovals, then I would use offsets calculated from spindle position. In fact I have.

can you attach your INI file. I am modifying my spindle hal component to manage this and other things. I'd like to see how your INI is configured.Didnt attache the hal file...

Hi. Sorry. I didn't get (or see...) a notification of your post.
I'll upload my config here tomorrow.

HI
This is the INI and hal files relevant to the spindle and the tool turret, as well as the .comps that i wrote to handle the spindle-C axis changes and the tool changer.
The tool turret indexing as well as the live tool is driven by the same servo motor.
I have not invested in live tools to fit in the VDI30 turret yet, but i have tested the functions on the machine and it seems to work OK.
The spindle drives are controlled in analog velocity mode (0-10v and CW/CCW signals) for spindle functions and the C-axis positioning control is done in step/dir mode, velocity command and the position loop closed by linuxcnc PID .
Its been a while since i tinkered with this......

thank you, I'm integrating a bunch of functions into my spindle component. i just wanted to see a functional c axis to work from. this is awesome, thank you. My C axis will be my spindle drive with velocity +-10v style, it has servo functionality. So what I was trying to figure out was how to configure this as a rotary axis. Is it just like any other axis ? how do I set up the encoder to it reads in degree in the ini ? or does it know ?

Hello, your C axis is well as I think your spindle motor (asynchronous motor with VDF 0-10V ? ) ? Do you want to switch from speed mode to angular mode ( a bit like ORIENT does ) ?
