So now I have assembled the head. No new pins as the pricing is very high at 14€/each.

Main problem was lack of maintenance so now all parts in plan feed assembly is cleaned - deburred - greased and it works OK.

Looking forward to use all functions in future on this boring - planing head

With a spindle-synched Z-feed you can bore tapered holes.
Nice for a tool tightening fixture.

Hmm I can not wrap my head around this.

Say you only have 1 pin engaged = that will only move the head 0.04mm once/rev and not a continuous feed.
All 12 gives 0.48mm in 12 steps/rev.

So how will the sync be and how smooth surface can one get?

I agree that you would expect a little step every revolution but in practice I haven’t been able to spot it.

Hi - I have dissassembled my UPA4 and wondering how to re-assemble the push buttons and the springs. I'm not sure how to handle the 12 springs while mounting the spring ring. Therefore that you have alreaddy done sucessfully I'm happy about any hint how to handle this.
