Before this gets out of hands, open the box, take some pictures, we can figure out a lot from just pictures.
Reason being, in most cases you yank the control card and leave the drive/motors as is, use a parallel port or a Mesa board as control and make chips.
You can always start with a parallel port (or two) and later get a Mesa 7i92T that replaces both those ports, with much, much higher step rates/speed.

Maybe I didn't mention that clearly enough:
I do not have any hardware, yet. I try to figure out which machine to get without having to run a WindowsPC. The mentioned type of machine happens to be a supplier in my country, which perhaps makes communication and delivery etc. a bit easier.
So It might be an option to buy the mechanical parts incl. the stepper motors without the controller.
Maybe I lack some basic knowledge. As I understand it, "information chain" is like this:
PC -> controller card (in this case the recom. mesa cards) -> motor drivers (as in power electronic) -> physical stepper motors).
If that is right, from what I read here: www.cnc-step.com/wp-content/uploads/2021...ero-4-35A_EN_2.1.pdf
(page 26 ff) it seems controller and power circuit seems to be a all-in-one custom setup.

OK, in that case have a look on the used machines section, if they are significantly cheaper it will be easier for you to yank stuff out and you might find one that uses parallel port so makes it even cheaper, as mechanically they should be OK.
www.cnc-step.com/second-hand-cnc-router-used-milling-machines/
I am pretty sure they had kits before, but there is no such thing there now.
Asa general rule for the old one, if the price is not 40-50% lower than new, do not bother with it. If it ends up 20% cheaper, not worth the risk and the lack of warranty/support.

The second-hand section has no machine of the needed size and I remember that I once called them about those and the answer was some "oh those are outdated and the information unmaintained".
And I'm pretty sure too, that they had kits before.
But I just noticed there is a supplier who has basic kits and accessories:
www.sorotec.de/shop/CNC-Mills/Alu-Line-Mills/
(the gantry variant seems to be a solid starting point as it is meant to be driven by 2 steppers for the x-axis).
(Maybe I should start an extra thread for finding the right machine/parts set for me..)
Will be quite some work for me to get the BOM complete, though.

Those should be a complete mechanical set, so no need for BOM.
One thing that i noticed just from a quick glance there, all those say weight is 140KG, impossible due to huge size differences, so that is lazy on their part. I feel bad for other Germans, i have a lot of respect for their punctuality, now this....and the bureaucracy.

I meant the BOM for the missing parts. As in all motors, controller boards, cables, router spindel etc.
Might need quite some help with that, I guess
As for the weight, they seem to got there a bit of mixup, I guess the apprentice maintaining the site, missed some spots after c&p
. IN the end, it will be delivered on a palette anyways..
Sadly the german punctuality has gone big style (the trains are 70% in time at best), but in exchange we got even more bureaucracy.
BUT!!! metric system!

Trump started the tarif's war because he got p.o. at why Americans buy European cars, and Europeans do not buy American cars!!!
What a dumb ... baby!
American Ford Mustang 5.0 = 200HP, Japanese Yamaha R1 = 220HP, Europe 4.0 = 604HP
The choice is clear, by Japanese!
Yes, back in days Civic had 150HP from 1.5 liter engine with no turbos, it had 160HP for Japanese market, it was crippled on purpose. Still was one of the best small nippy cars, behind MK1 Golf GTI = the grand daddy of hatchbacks.
End rant.

Bikes are a different kettle of, on the street out right HP doesn't mean a lot, ask the guy on Fireblade I cut up and easily got away from on old KLR- 250 four stroke that I used as my courier bike. Get a guy who can use 75% of the power of a modern sports bike and you've found someone who should really be club racing.
Obviously racing is a different kettle of fish.
Anyways as for these control boxes, why do they insist on using lower power connectors for the steepers ?
