Homing with tandem X axis was created by bpwood
I have a router with dual x axis. I did change the A to the X and the motors move fine. I am having problems with the homing.

I have one switch for each of the X stepper motors and I want to use these switches for limit and home switches. Has this been worked out by someone?

Example: When you home the machine X1 gets to the switch first and stops, then X2 hits and stops, then they both back off at the same time.

Any help would be appreciated. I am new to Linux and EMC

Are both X steppers driven from the same output?

One thought that comes to my mind is to use a probing routine to "square" the X axis. Dunno how well that would work.

Or you might square the X axis then turn it on... then home.

One stepper is driven from pins 2/3 and the other 8/9. I thought I could have 2 configuration files an XYZA to home (X2 would be A), then home, then load up the XYZ configuration to run.

I was hoping someone new how to do this without 2 configuration files.

I do use the limit switch adjustment to square the machine. Probing sounds interesting...

You might inquire on the IRC and the mailing list to see if it has been done before.

Another thought comes to mind to use M100 commands with a squaring routine to get the axis square then home as normal.
