EMC and chinese board was created by BCM45
I bought a driver board off of ebay a few years ago and it is very similar to this one.

4 Axis A3977 CNC controller for CNC Router Mill products, buy 4 Axis A3977 CNC controller for CNC Router Mill products from alibaba.com (mine is a 3 axis version)

I cannot find the timing values emc asks for in the stepper conf wizard; step time, step space, direction hold, and direction setup. The other question I had was in the wizard where you can configure the p port pins the first choice lists everything but what I need, my board is looking for pin 1 to be enable all. Enable all is not listed unless it is a communication issue and there is a different name that I am not aware of.

You can go here and see if your board is listed or just pick a high number to start with.

Amplifier Enable is the one you seek...

Thanks but my board is not listed. Can you give me a rough starting estimate? As far as pin 1 that is what I thought but was not sure enough to try it.

If you can find or see the part number for the actual drive chip (may be A3977, sounds familiar), google for the datasheet for that chip. Timing will be listed in there somewhere.

found it:
www.allegromicro.com/en/Products/Part_Numbers/3977/3977.pdf

According to this, you need 200nS min dir setup before step, then 200 nS after step pulse leading edge. The pulse is ,im 1uS high then min 1uS low.

Hope that helps. I would prolly just use the default settings stepconf gives, but there are the numbers.

I would pad the chip timings to allow for other things on the board that will make the timing slower.

I agree with John, I would double them at least.

The problem is that you have to invert the three four (in your case) amplifier enable lines in step config. Just putting this out here because I had to find it out the hard way.
