Using only a L298 was created by NightFox
Hi, I'm building a cnc and want to use the EMC to control it but I've a problem configuring it. I use a driver board composed of a L298 ( ( here the circuit www.pollin.de/shop/downloads/D810027B.PDF ) where I need 4 output pins of the LTP port. So it's not the step/direction method. How can i configure my EMC to run the boards or isn't it possible to use them with EMC?!
Looking forward for your answers ;)

I think it is possible, but you cannot use the Stepconf wizzard.
See chapter 11.1 Stepgen of the integrator manual.
You have to use one of the steptypes 2-14.

Thanks for your answer :)
Well having a look at this, i think it would be easier to use an additional L297 to be able to use the more efficient step/direction mode or is there not such a big difference between the two methods?

I agree, I would suggest to add a 297.
Or use another "integrated" controller, like a TB6560

Hi,

for me this was the solution:

www.linuxcnc.org/component/option,com_ku...d,1986/lang,english/

Thanks PCW I was able to configure the EMC2 for use with very simple HW, similar to Your L298 solution.

Just try it !
