Mach 3 conversion to Stepconf Wizard was created by BigJohnT
I wrote a conversion program that will take a Mach 3 xml file and convert it to a Stepconf Wizard xml file. The Stepconf Wizard is up to 4 axis and for steppers.
The conversion program as of 2.7 is a part of the Stepconf Wizard!
I'm deleting all but the Mach xml files for now in this thread in case anyone needs to test the 2.7 Stepconf Wizard.
You can attach your xml file to a reply here and I'll convert it if is 4 axes or less. To help me with my bandwidth limitations please zip the xml file before attaching.
Please don't email me the xml file it overloads my inbox.
This thread is purged from time to time to keep it from growing to large.

Quick update for anyone else moving to LinuxCNC...
In Mach3 pin 15 is the Emergency stop, didn't convert as there appears to be no name for that pin in the Mach3 file... can be added during StepConf.
<Input25Active>1</Input25Active>
<Input25Port>1</Input25Port>
<Input25Pin>15</Input25Pin>
<Input25Neg>1</Input25Neg>
<Input25Emulated>0</Input25Emulated>
<Input25EmuKey>0</Input25EmuKey>
Output pin 17 is used for Charge Pump (12.5 kHz pulse) from PC so motors can only activate when Mach3 is Active. I tried setting that pin in StepConf but the axis tests didn't do anything - rejumpered the controller card (www.cncdoctor.co.uk/opto-bb-v1_61.html) to ignore that pin and they worked OK. Will get back to that at some stage - for now the ESTOP is good enough... don't expect a Linux box to randomly reboot :)
The "steps to linear movement" multiplies are off in StepConf so little movement in axis tests until parameters are increased - need to do a bit more work to figure out what they should be or if they are in the Mach3 file (the mil and machine are new to me so may have to make a test piece in Mach3 and measure it to ensure that Mach3 is actually correct)

Stepconf test this axis will not turn on an enable bit or charge pump.

Hello all,
I've been playing around with an old CharlyRobot with obsolete controllers and drivers. I replace them with Leadshine MX3660 and LinuxCNC but there something wrong with the stepconf I tuned from the datasheet and manuals. Fortunately it comes with a Mach3 xml configuration file, and as I can see I found the right spot to get some help.
Here is the attachement, thanks in advance !

Thanks for all of the support you have given us neophytes for so long. I am taking the acquisition of a newer computer to make the switch to LinuxCNC. Right off the bat, Stepconf wants timing information for my Chinese motor controllers that I don't have. Hopefully that info is buried in this XML file.
