There you go, you would have to be running the latest buildbot version of LinuxCNC. For sure when 2.7.0 is released it will be in that one. I expect that real soon.

I just checked and I have LINUXCNC - 2.7.0~pre6 and the import option is there. There is no 2.7.9 so I assume that is a typo.

Yes, it was type mistake.
Right version is 2.7.0 pre6 (linuxcnc info show me this number).
I made fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 and then I installed linuxcnc from repo.
(according to point 3.7.2 from page: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/getting-started/ )
I didn't use disk image, maybe it is reason not to show this option?

No, I'm running a Run In Place (RIP) so I have the latest code. Until the code that was added after pre6 was released you won't see it the way you installed. I think they are jumping up and down to release 2.7.0 (no pre) and it will be there.

Hi JT,
could you convert my 2 axis lathe xml file please?
I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.7 pre6 hoping to get the stepconfig wizard with the Mach 3 import option but it does not show it
Thank you
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
I used the new Stepconf Wizard to create your configuration then zipped up the configuration directory. Put the 2AxisLathe directory with the files in the /linuxcnc/configs directory. The .stepconf file goes in the configs directory.
