Trying to find pinout info?

Trying to go by the "Getting Started Manual v 2.5"

Using 5i25/7i76 cards

Installed 3 axis Sherline because I thought it would be closest thing to my mill, and would have to be "configured" anyway? (Another issue but details are in "Installing LinuxCNC" subforum.

I'm in chapter 4 at 4.5 Pinout Information. How do I find my pinout information?

In chapter 5 it asks for paraport address, how do I determine that if 0X378 isn't correct?

Got to section 5.5 Axis Configuration and tried to test the Axis. It gave and error and said I had a "broken pipe". What the heck, now I'm a plumber too.

I see that in the third post down, Chris says these files are for 2.5.1???

I am running 2.5.0 installed from live CD. I have no internet connection on the linux computer to upgrade with. Last time I tried to install a wireless network card years ago I wasted several days trying too. Finally called in a computer geek and had him do it.

Can I download zipped update file in last post onto a thumb drive and transfer to the linux computer? Or do I have to get a network connection first and update my OS to 2.5.1?

Not sure what a cat5e cable is? I do have a long "telephone" cable on a reel that might reach. I'll see if I can locate it.

OK, was just reading on internet that cat5 (phone cable) will support 10T or 100T, but it didn't mention that the plug is wider. No wonder I haven't been able to connect to the server.

I'll move the computer/monitor back to the computer room install a cat5e cable and maybe, just maybe I'll be in business.
