Laptop MSI - COM1 port was created by probamo
The mentioned Laptop do not have LPT1, but checking Live CD on it, Latency test works quite well, w/o having any USB connection, max was 6500ns, with USB mouse goes up to 9500ns, which is quite good having in mind that testing is on laptop. I did not install LinuxCNC on HDD, just checked Latency with LiveCD.
Would the figures change when the system is installed on HDD? If not, this MSI laptop could be good candidate for driving machine.
Unfortunately, Laptop do not have LPT1, but COM1 connector. If adapter COM1/LPT1 is provided, would it be possible to configure stepconf and run the machine?
Is there any experience behind from the others?
Thanks,

Linuxcnc cannot send realtime motor commands over serial whether a standard or USB.
This includes USB to parallel port converters.
