This is my first time dealing with linux cnc. When working with stepConf, I have the following setup:

C10 breakout board with Emergency stop switch connected to pin 10 and ground
Parallel port 0x378 ->out (verified in bios)
Parallel port bios setting: EPP/ECP
input pin 10 ->Estop in

Output pins all work fine at controlling all motors. When testing an axis in stepConf, machine does not respond to the emergency stop input.

I have used the parallel port tester here: wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Parallel_Port_Tester to verify that a signal is being received
on input port 10 when the emergency stop switch is engaged.

Does anyone have any idea why the machine is not stopping?

Thanks,
-Jeremy :(

There is no EStop test in stepconf, the test is just for the motors.

Does it work when you run your machine on the generated config?

If not post your hal and ini files

I was wondering if this could be the case. I'll test this on the generated config and let you know. Thanks!

You are absolutely right. It works without a hitch in the main GUI. Thank!
