Stepper config test confusing old user

I am an old user rebuilding a shop made gantry router with new gecko 203V drivers. Running through a simple BO board.
Pretty simple
200 step/rev motors
1:1 ratio to drive screw
10 rev/inch screw. ( yes a know it is a lot of resolution for a wood machine but that will be the next step )
set microstep to 1
When I run the test everything is nice and smooth but it is moving exactly 1/10 the commanded distance and at about 1/6.6 the rate, very repeatable.
I get a feeling I am tripping over something simple but Darned if I can see it. Running a fresh basic 2.6 download of LinuxCNC and
used the 203V settings build into stepper config wizard. Don't know if I am missing something on the config or the use of the 203Vs.
Any ideas?

The Gecko 203v (great drive) is fixed at 10 microsteps.

Thanks folks. Went to 10 ms and it works fine. Limited by step rate now so time to play with some different ratio pulleys.

Pair the 203v's with a Mesa 5i25 7i76 combo and you won't have step rate issues.

Thanks Big John. I will file that away though. More $ than my wife would tolerate right now :) . I will be instructing a class just after the first of the year and may be able to do it on that check. I'd already made a set of XL pulleys to try and I do that first.
