Z Stepper won't run was created by bwg
Have new setup with tb6560. I thought I had everything going after finding the pin outs for the TB 6560, but at the time I only had X and Y hooked up. They work fine but Z won't work. When I try to test the Z axis, the X stepper is apparantly energized it sits there and buzzes. When I text X and Y they appear to be fine. I tried to add a zenable line in hal custom file but that only generates an error.
Does anyone have any guidance. I'm losing my mind

it's noting more than finding the variant of the parallel port that works ,
make a list of the pins that work ,and are correct , and it should be easy to relate the others , beware of amp enable some boards wont work if that is not connected , but it seems you have some movement
so just leave that pin till last . post what you have and it should not take long to figure the rest

is their any version numbers on the pcb also , they use the colour of the pcb to denote versions in some , so post a picture of the board , or if you have a connection sheet as a pdf attach that here
look through the posts you'll find more than one version of configs .

I have a feeling that Amplifier Enable switch is contributing to this situation. But I need to learn more about this software to iron it out. For instance, I have seen these configuration files before. But I don't really know how to use them. Should I just plug them into the folder for my linuxcnc configuration and bypass stepconf program? Also, I notice that this rf-30 does not mention amplifier enable at all.
I guess it mainly boils down to my studying up on hal configs. The documentation seems a little sparse but I probably am just looking in the wrong place.

I would suggest keeping the stepconf-produced configuration and trying to see in what way the Z axis parts differs from the others.

The right place is here, the problem is rather the reverse of sparseness, there is so much documentation it can be hard to find the right parts.

The board is 3 axis Blue Board. The only id is "30695S" I have attached a picture.

Here is how I configured the board via Stepconf.
Pin:
1 X Step
2 Y Enable
3 Y Direction
4 Z Direction
5 Z Step
6 Amp Enable
7 X Dirction
8 Y Step
9 Spindle Motor
10 Input 0
11 Input 1
12 Input 2
13 Input 3
14 X Enable
15 Unused
16 Out 1
17 Out 2

This config allows X and Y axis to work both in Stepconf and Axis. When I try Z in Stepconf the only that happens is that the motors on X and Y are buzzing (shaking) but the Z motor does not. Nothing else moves when testing Z.

btw I changed the motors around and they all work if used in X or Y.

try a new config with the following

pin2 xstep
pin3 xdir
pin4 ystep
pin5 ydir
pin6 zstep
pin7 zdir

just in case
it's trying a few combinations that we know were used on these boards

I will try those, but what about the other pins. Should I config them as unused? Or should I set those up by hand?
